It’s late in the election season, and you need political attack ads! From here until the election, Boss Nacho Productions will make any attack ad of any political bias you desire. Whether you’re a fresh young newcomer looking to edge out the old guard, or an entrenched incumbent worried about changing political winds, let Boss Nacho craft that message you may not necessarily approve of.

Multimedia artist, Pete Brown, has created an art exhibit that can be experienced by all your senses. The exhibit “Blind: VisualEYES without Your Eyes” lets patrons not only see the art, but touch the many textures, grooves, and reliefs; giving a new dimension to the art’s appreciation. Also, QR codes are available on most pieces to give those with inhibited vision some insight into a piece’s composition. Pete partnered with Bosma Enterprises and the Arts Council of Indianapolis to create an art exhibit that can be experienced by the visually impaired. There are even special glasses simulating different conditions of vision impairment provided for patrons who wish to experience the art a different way. The exhibit is at Gallery 924 on 10th and Pennsylvania (right next to the Living Room Lounge) and goes on from October 5th – 26th.

The 2012 Mass Ave Criterium was an incredibly fast, dangerous, and exciting bicycle race! A sponsored moped that was pacing the race was lapped during the Cat 3 race. The moped driver pulled off the race course, looked at me bewildered and said, “They’re faster than me!” This is a summary of all the championship races, including an extended cut of the very exciting Cat 1 and 2 race for the overall championship where the leaders who were ahead by 20 seconds to the rest of the pack with only 5 laps left in the race, sprinted to the finish with a surging pack in full aggression.

In a field near Oakland City, Indiana, dozens gathered with their personal arsenal to express their 2nd Amendment rights. Thousands of bullets ripped into a variety of opjects from traditional shooting targets, bowling pins, pirate zombies, and two cars that didn’t remain structurally sound. Below is a video of the final minutes of the two cars.

WHOA! what the hell? Out of nowhere the Painter of Light dies Saturday“unexpectedly of natural causes.” If you don’t know who Thomas Kinkade is, he is the guy who painted that one picture of a cottage in rainy weather with the lights on in your mom’s house.

Thomas Kinkade will always hold a special place in my life because I met him once (that’s right, I drop names like you drop your kids off to little league). It was the summer of 2009: the Summer of Death, yet somehow I was surviving. Anne Purcell and I were at the Snake Pit Ball interviewing big time celebrities like Meredith from the Office and Julianne Hough’s brother. When I saw the list of celebrities attending the ball, I saw the incomparable Mr. Kinkade’s name on the list. I told Anne, The only way I’m going to recognize Thomas Kinkade is if he’s holding a canvas. The video above shows what happens next.

Here’s an older video I did of another Frank Bill reading.

On March 26th, 2012, an estimated 2,500 people marched through the streets of Indianapolis in a show of solidarity for seeking justice in the death of Trayvon Martin. The march started at Crispus Attucks High School, led to a gathering at the American Legion Mall, and ended at Monument Circle. Along with building awareness in seeking justice for Trayvon Martin, the crowd also gathered to protest racial profiling and family values.

The Indianapolis Polar Plunge – to benefit the Special Olympics of Indiana – was held on February 25, 2012. It was stupid cold out that day, easily the coldest day of the year, and I forgot to wear gloves; I was warm winter arrogant, and I paid dearly. Also a part of the festivities was free Brrrrrrrr haircuts and the Polar Plunge costume contest. Will no one step up and challenge Joe’s Plunge Team from Johnson Co.? I had so much footage from the event that I made a couple of videos, including an extended interview featuring the costume contest winners that got completely out of hand. One man cannot capture the whole of the Broad Ripple Music Fest. Every year the fest seems to expand in diversity with more venues and musicians, but also in distance. I cannot walk the width and breadth of the fest, and I’d spend more time parking than partying if I took my car. Perhaps in future years they can implement a trolley system, maybe rent the tractors they use at the State Fair, or Segway trains. Too bad our lone Broad Ripple Segway dealership did not last (damn bicycles and their affordability).

So this video is of a few of the bands at the Broad Ripple Music Fest that were in and around Broad Ripple Ave. Musically, it’s all over the place; it’ll make you schizo, no doubt. Here’s who you’ll see:
